Apple Cider Donuts Recipe

We love a good cake donut and what better way to enjoy warm winter spices than with these delicious homemade apple cider donuts! Foolproof for the novice baker, we urge you to try your hand at this recipe made special by our friends at Taste Toronto.

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease two donut pans with nonstick cooking spray. In a medium bowl, add all of your dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon) and whisk to combine. Set aside.
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, add 10 tablespoons of butter, brown sugar, and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar at medium speed until light and airy (4 minutes).
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly and scraping down the bowl. Mix in vanilla extract until incorporated.
  4. Add the flour in three additions, mixing on low in between until incorporated. With the mixer on low, slowly stream in the apple cider. Mix to combine.
  5. Pour into donuts pans and bake for 30 minutes, checking at 20 minutes.
  6. Once fully cooked, let cool for 10 minutes and enjoy!
