Mac and Cheese Pie

Ingredients:
- 2 cups Sunspun elbow macaroni
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 teaspoons hot sauce (to taste)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (to taste)
- 2 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish and set aside.
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt to the boiling water and add the macaroni. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until it is al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the evaporated milk, egg, hot sauce, mustard, salt, and black pepper. Whisk the mixture until well combined.
- Gently fold the macaroni and 2 cups of shredded cheese into the liquid mixture. Fold until evenly coated.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread it evenly using a spatula.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese evenly over the top.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the macaroni pie is set and the top is golden brown.
- Once the pie is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Once cooled, cut into squares and enjoy!
