Yield: Serves 2
Cook Time:
10 minutes

  1. Heat up a large cast iron pan lightly coated in oil over high heat until almost smoking.
  2. Place ground beef into the pan and season with salt and pepper; add a generous handful of onions to the top of the balls and press down firmly with a heavy spatula until flattened. Cook for 2 minutes or until nicely browned, and then flip to the other side.
  3. Season again with salt and pepper. Let the mixture cook for 1 minute, and then add cheese.
  4. Add the top bun to the patty and place the bottom bun inverted on top, allowing it to steam and warm.
  5. Transfer the bottom bun to the plate. Top with pickles or any other desired condiments; then carefully scoop the patty and top bun onto the bottom bun. Enjoy!
